From time to time we'll share some of the product feedback we get from our customers on our newer products. We are now highlighting the new RSM-2 ribbon mic, which is shaking up the recording market with its high value performance and breakthrough pricing. "Dear Nady Systems,
I received my new RSM-2 ribbon microphone yesterday (ordered it through Mcmahan's in N.C.) and just love it. This is my first experience with a ribbon microphone. It is so wonderfully different from all the condenser and dynamic mics I have or have used. It has all the good traits that I've read about ribbon mics in general. So far I've recorded vocals, acoustic guitar, acoustic bass guitar and mandolin with great results. I used the proximity effect to increase the apparent low end out of the acoustic bass guitar and got a cool upright bass kind of sound. The fit and finish of the mic is very nice and the packaging is well designed. I have a recording project coming up soon where I want to try the RSM-2 for electric guitar, saxophone and drums (either overhead or room mic). What a great microphone, the RSM-2. I record mostly jazz and classical music. I used to record double bass with a RCA74 but this is so much better. Also as an overhead on the horn-section of a Big Band this works fantastic:
